HOW DO YOU COME BACK TO YOUR CENTRE AFTER A PERIOD OF INDULGENCE (especially summer!)?
This is a VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC.

I want to tell you three important things I know about coming back to health after a fall, a long weekend, a trip, summer; anything that takes you out of the habits that serve you best.
THREE KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER:
1. SHAME DOES NOT CHANGE OR SHIFT YOU OUT OF HABITS THAT ARE DESTRUCTIVE or NOT SERVING YOU. SHAME KEEPS YOU STUCK.
I REPEAT SHAME KEEPS YOU STUCK.
Shaming yourself after indulging, or reacting, or yelling, or doing anything you wish you had not done – has been shown to propel and keep us STUCK in those exact habits we are trying to change.
What helps us come out of those habits? SELF COMPASSION, SELF AWARENESS, and SUPPORT.
2. COMING BACK AFTER INDULGENCE is a PRACTICE. It is a muscle we keep flexing, that keeps getting stronger over time. We need to practice compassion, and self-awareness in order to get ourselves back there. time and time again. This is a SKILL. You are not a failure because you lost your way…AGAIN! YOU ARE HUMAN.
3. YOU ARE NOT ALONE – trust me on this – you are NOT the only reading this who feels they indulged too much, feels heavy and bloated from eating or drinking too much, or wish they hadn’t listened to “that part of the brain” that gets them into trouble. KNOWING THIS, actually allows the self-compassion to penetrate and can be a powerful tool to help us come back.
