Donald Currie – Master Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist, NLP practitioner

The meaning of life is about connection. The connection that we have with other people in our lives is merely a mirror of the connection that we have with ourselves

— Donald Currie

Donald Currie is a Registered Psychotherapist, Master Hypnotherapist, and NLP practitioner.  Donald believes passionately that examining the subconscious mind, can transform the habits that do not serve you, and move you closer to love for yourself and others.

In this video, Donald and I discuss:

  • How awareness of the subconscious mind can help you change your brain and as a result – the habits that don’t serve you that you are stuck in

  •  Why people can’t stop eating sugar, despite negative health consequences.

  • Default mode network (stores the subconscious mind) – responsible for 90% of what we do every day!!

  • In our developmental years 0 – 6 – there are emotional networks that lay down the foundational imprints that will be with you for the rest of your life – your perceptions, how you see things, what you think about what you are seeing and feeling

  • We are not conscious that this framework has been laid, this is why the conscious desire to change is very different then what happens? – this is mind-blowing to me!!

  • It is important to normalize the battle hat we all have between our desires and intentions

  • Instant gratification comes from the subconscious mind (emotional world); If we want to change habits – we must focus awareness on the long term gratification of things”

  • Sugar has the same chemical effect on the brain as drugs

  • Finding new coping strategies – that do not have self-destructive outcomes to your health ie: exercise, meditation, calling a friend, having a healthy snack, riding the wave of the craving to see you can do it!

  • Program it in overtime – be gentle with yourself

QUOTES TO FILL YOUR SOUL from Donald Currie:

“Cravings for sugar are like waves – wave comes in, it will come back out again – it won’t stay there forever – you won’t drown”

“Instant gratification comes from the subconscious mind (emotional world); If we want to change habits – we must focus awareness on the long term gratification of things”

“A journey towards full self-acceptance – once we do that – we just love and radiate that out” –

“The inner work can be uncomfortable, but when we are comfortable, we are not growing”
